Update: Seismic activity on July 5 – 5.3 magnitude earthquake close to southeast of the Loyalty Islands registered

LIFOU, Loyalty Islands Province—the U.S. Geological Survey reported that a 5.3 magnitude quake struck close to southeast of the Loyalty Islands Saturday morning.

The tremor shook the area at 19:47 UTC (06:47 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter situated southeast of the Loyalty Islands of southeast of the Loyalty Islands.
