ALEUTIANS EAST BOROUGH, AK—A 5.4 magnitude quake was reported close to Sand Point around midday Wednesday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

At 8:42 p.m. (12:42 p.m. local time), the region was shaken by a tremor. The earthquake struck at a depth of 27 miles, with its epicenter approximately 58 miles south-southeast of Sand Point.
