ALEUTIANS EAST BOROUGH, AK—A 5.4 magnitude quake was recorded near Sand Point at midday on Wednesday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

A tremor hit the area at 8:42 p.m. (12:42 p.m. local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was situated roughly 58 miles south-southeast of Sand Point and occurred at a depth of 27 miles.
