Update: Seismic activity on July 16 – 5.2 magnitude earthquake near Sand Point, AK registered

ALEUTIANS EAST BOROUGH, AK—According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.2 magnitude quake occurred close to Sand Point around midday Wednesday.

The tremor hit the area at 10:10 p.m. (11:10 a.m. local time). It occurred at a depth of 14 miles with the epicenter situated about 66 miles south-southeast of Sand Point.
