Update: Seismic activity on July 13 – 2.1 magnitude earthquake near Petrolia, CA reported

A preliminary 2.1 magnitude quake was recorded close to Petrolia Sunday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

It was reported that a tremor shook the region at 7:39 a.m. The epicenter was positioned about 10 miles west-northwest of Petrolia, at a depth of 12 miles.

Tremors past week

Over the last week, seven tremors of magnitude 2.5 or above have been registered in the area. The strongest, a 3.1 magnitude quake, rattled the same region three days ago.
