HUMBOLDT COUNTY, CA — A 3.0 magnitude quake was registered close to Petrolia Friday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which shook the area at 8:06 a.m. (7:06 a.m. local time), was centered about 33 miles west-northwest of Petrolia. It occurred at a depth of 8 miles.
