SONOMA COUNTY, CA — the U.S. Geological Survey reported that a 2.9 magnitude quake rattled near Cobb Thursday night.
The tremor shook the area at 10:46 p.m. It occurred at a depth of just 2 miles with the epicenter situated approximately 4 miles west-northwest of Cobb.

Those who experienced the earthquake are encouraged to report it through the USGS Felt Report form. 7 people have submitted responses through the agency’s online form, saying they felt the quake. The USGS DYFI report indicates that residents in Middletown experienced weak shaking during the tremor.

Last week’s quake
Last week, a single magnitude 2.5 quake was centered in the region. The event was documented close to Lake Pillsbury, four days ago.
