Update: July 12 – 3.7 magnitude earthquake recorded close to Pinnacles, CA

SAN BENITO COUNTY, CA — Saturday morning, a 3.7 magnitude quake was detected near Pinnacles, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which jolted the area at 1:31 a.m., was centered roughly 3 miles east of Pinnacles. It occurred at a depth of 7 miles.

Weak shaking has been registered and people reported experiencing the tremor in multiple cities, including Carmel, Seaside and Soledad according to the USGS DYFI report.
