Update: Earthquake struck region close to Shingletown, CA on July 12 – 2.4 magnitude recorded

SHASTA COUNTY, CA — According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a preliminary 2.4 magnitude quake occurred near Shingletown Saturday night.

The tremor, which shook the area at 9:09 p.m., was centered roughly 7 miles west of Shingletown. It occurred at a depth of 8 miles.
