Update: Earthquake of 5.2 magnitude registered near Hualien City, Taiwan on March 12

A 5.2 magnitude quake occurred near Hualien City on Thursday evening, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which jolted the area at 12:14 UTC (20:14 local time), was centered about 28 km south of Hualien City. It occurred at a depth of 31 km.
