FRESNO COUNTY, CA — at midday on Sunday, a preliminary 3.0 magnitude quake was reported close to Toms Place, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor rattled the area at 1:23 p.m. It occurred at a depth of 5 miles with the epicenter positioned approximately 11 miles west-southwest of Toms Place.
