Update: Earthquake of 6.6 magnitude recorded near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Russia on July 20

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 6.6 magnitude quake occurred close to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Sunday afternoon.

It was reported that a tremor shook the region at 06:28 UTC (17:28 local time). The epicenter was situated approximately 142 km east of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, at a depth of 23 km. Seismologists first reported it as a 6.7 event, but later downgraded it by 0.1.
