Update: Earthquake of 5.3 magnitude registered close to Lorengau, Papua New Guinea on July 8

The U.S. Geological Survey reported that a 5.3 magnitude quake struck near Lorengau Tuesday morning.

It was reported that a tremor hit the region at 17:22 UTC (03:22 local time). The epicenter was situated roughly 105 km south-southeast of Lorengau, at a depth of 10 km.
