NIUATOPUTAPU, Niuas — Thursday afternoon, a 5.2 magnitude quake was recorded close to Hihifo, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor hit the area at 04:46 UTC (16:46 local time). It occurred at a depth of 182 km with the epicenter located roughly 89 km west-northwest of Hihifo.
