MORA, San José Province — A 5.0 magnitude quake occurred close to Palmichal on Tuesday night, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
The USGS reported a tremor in the region at 03:49 UTC (21:49 local time). The epicenter was roughly 2 km north-northeast of Palmichal, at a depth of 71 km. The magnitude was originally reported as 4.8 but later upgraded to 5.0.
