Update: Earthquake of 2.2 magnitude reported close to Weaverville, CA on July 12

TRINITY COUNTY, CA — A 2.2 magnitude quake was registered close to Weaverville around midday Saturday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

A tremor struck the area at 12:31 p.m. The earthquake’s epicenter was positioned approximately 14 miles northwest of Weaverville and occurred at a depth of 22 miles.
