FAIS, Yap — Friday afternoon, a 5.6 magnitude quake was recorded near Fais, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor hit at 09:43 UTC (18:43 local time), with its epicenter located about 221 km northeast of Fais and a depth of 10 km.
