HUMBOLDT COUNTY, CA — the U.S. Geological Survey reported that a 3.0 magnitude quake occurred near Petrolia Friday morning.

The tremor rattled the region at 8:06 a.m. (7:06 a.m. local time). It occurred at a depth of 8 miles with the epicenter positioned about 33 miles west-northwest of Petrolia.
