Update: 3.4 magnitude earthquake shakes close to Petrolia, CA on July 11

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, CA — A 3.4 magnitude quake was recorded near Petrolia Friday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor rattled at 8:06 a.m. (7:06 a.m. local time), with its epicenter located roughly 33 miles west-northwest of Petrolia and a depth of 8 miles.
