Update: Earthquake measuring 2.7 rattles area close to Olancha, CA on July 13

INYO COUNTY, CA — Sunday morning, a preliminary 2.7 magnitude quake was reported close to Olancha, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

A tremor shook the region at 8:45 a.m. The earthquake’s epicenter was situated approximately 7 miles south-southwest of Olancha and occurred at a depth of just 1 mile.

Olancha hit twice past week

Over the last week, in the same region experienced two earthquakes exceeding magnitude 2.5. Both had a magnitude of 4.0, with one occurring prior to this quake and the other on July 13.
