ALMERÍA, AN — A 5.2 magnitude quake was reported near San José Monday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The tremor, which hit the area at 05:13 UTC (07:13 local time), was centered roughly 21 km southeast of San José. It occurred at a depth of 10 km.

Moderate shaking was registered, and residents in several cities—including San Miguel de Salinas, El Ejido, Vera, Cuevas del Almanzora and Mojácar—reported feeling the tremor, according to the USGS DYFI report.
