Update: 7.3 magnitude earthquake reported close to Sand Point, AK on July 16

ALEUTIANS EAST BOROUGH, AK—Wednesday morning, a 7.3 magnitude quake was registered close to Sand Point, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

It was reported that a tremor devastated the region at 8:37 p.m. (9:37 a.m. local time). The epicenter was situated roughly 54 miles south of Sand Point, at a depth of 12 miles.
