TAPACHULA, Chis. — A 5.8 magnitude quake occurred close to Puerto Madero on Tuesday night, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

At 05:02 UTC (23:02 local time), a tremor jolted the region at a depth of 10 km, with its epicenter approximately 98 km southwest of Puerto Madero. The magnitude was originally reported as 5.7 but later upgraded to 5.8.
