Update: 5.2 magnitude earthquake recorded near San José, Spain on July 14

ALMERÍA, AN — According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.2 magnitude quake occurred close to San José Monday morning.

A tremor jolted the area at 05:13 UTC (07:13 local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was situated roughly 23 km east of San José and occurred at a depth of 10 km.

The agency has received 96 responses on its online form so far, from people indicating they experienced the tremor. The USGS DYFI report indicates that moderate shaking was detected, with people in San Miguel de Salinas, El Ejido, Vícar, Roquetas de Mar and Cuevas del Almanzora among those who felt the earthquake.
