Update: 5.1 magnitude earthquake hits near Bantogon, Philippines on Jan. 27

A 5.1 magnitude quake was recorded close to Bantogon Tuesday night, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

At 15:50 UTC (23:50 local time), the region was shaken by a tremor. The earthquake jolted at a depth of 10 km, with its epicenter approximately 32 km west of Bantogon. The magnitude was originally reported as 4.9 but later upgraded to 5.1.
