A 5.0 magnitude quake was recorded near South Sandwich Islands region Saturday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which rattled the area at 06:21 UTC (04:21 local time), was centered of South Sandwich Islands region. It occurred at a depth of 94 km.
