Update: 5.0 magnitude earthquake detected close to Blangpidie, Indonesia on July 11

SOUTH ACEH REGENCY, Aceh — A 5.0 magnitude quake was recorded near Blangpidie Friday evening, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which jolted the area at 12:45 UTC (19:45 local time), was centered about 82 km southeast of Blangpidie. It occurred at a depth of 45 km.
