Update: 4.0 magnitude earthquake detected near Olancha, CA on July 13

INYO COUNTY, CA — According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 4.0 magnitude quake occurred close to Olancha Sunday morning.

At 5:27 a.m., the region was rattled by a tremor. The earthquake hit at a depth of just 0.27 miles, with its epicenter roughly 8 miles south-southwest of Olancha.
