Update: 2.4 magnitude earthquake reported near Borrego Springs, CA on July 11

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a preliminary 2.4 magnitude quake struck close to Borrego Springs Friday morning.

The tremor shook the area at 10:49 a.m. It occurred at a depth of just 3 miles with the epicenter situated about 3 miles west of Borrego Springs.
