IMPERIAL COUNTY, CA — A 2.1 magnitude quake was recorded close to Calipatria Friday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor shook the area at 2:59 a.m. It occurred at a depth of just 2 miles with the epicenter situated about 7 miles west-northwest of Calipatria.
