At 4 a.m. Sunday, the National Hurricane Center released its first advisory of the day for the system, stating that Tropical Storm Fay is in the Atlantic Ocean, 450 miles southwest of the Azores. Packing maximum sustained winds of 45 mph, the system is tracking to the north-northeast at 5 mph.

“A turn to the southwest is expected on Monday,” analysts explained. They also said “Additional strengthening is expected over the next day or so.”
