According to the National Hurricane Center’s 4 a.m. Sunday advisory, Humberto found new strength and had evolved from a Category 5 hurricane into a Category 4 hurricane with sustained winds of 155 mph. Category 4 Hurricane Humberto is in the Atlantic Ocean, 585 miles south of Bermuda. The hurricane, with maximum sustained winds of 155 mph, is moving west-northwest at 13 mph.
“A turn toward the northwest is expected this morning, followed by a turn to the north-northwest on Monday evening”, according to forecasters. They also said “Humberto is forecast to then turn north-northeastward and move west of Bermuda by Tuesday evening.”

Humberto became a Category 5 hurricane with sustained winds of 155 mph after intensifying from a Category 4 hurricane.
Hazards affecting land
Surf. Swells generated by Humberto will continue to affect portions of the northern Leeward Islands, the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and Bermuda through much of this week. Swells from Humberto will also affect the U.S. East Coast beginning Monday. These swells are likely to cause life-threatening surf and rip current conditions.
