Update: Earthquake of 5.0 magnitude registered near Port-Vila, Vanuatu on Sept. 27

The U.S. Geological Survey reported that a 5.0 magnitude quake shook close to Port-Vila Saturday afternoon.

The tremor hit the area at 07:17 UTC (18:17 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter situated roughly 70 km west-northwest of Port-Vila.
