A 5.1 magnitude quake shook close to Saipan on Wednesday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

At 08:37 UTC (18:37 local time), a tremor hit the region at a depth of 10 km, with its epicenter approximately 172 km east-southeast of Saipan.
