Update: Earthquake hits region close to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Russia on Oct. 19 – 5.2 magnitude reported

A 5.2 magnitude quake was detected near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Sunday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

At 07:23 UTC (18:23 local time), the area was struck by a tremor. The earthquake jolted at a depth of 10 km, with its epicenter roughly 176 km east-southeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
