Update: Earthquake measuring 5.0 rattles area near East Pacific Rise on Nov. 5

A 5.0 magnitude quake was detected close to East Pacific Rise Wednesday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor struck the region at 01:48 UTC (18:48 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter located south of East Pacific Rise.

Past week’s quake

Over the last week, there has been one more tremor of magnitude 5.1 centered in the region. Prior to this quake, it too was registered close to East Pacific Rise.
