ALEUTIANS WEST CENSUS AREA, AK — A 5.3 magnitude quake struck near Nikolski on Saturday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

At 9:49 p.m. (10:49 a.m. local time), a tremor shook the region at a depth of 6 miles, with its epicenter about 104 miles southwest of Nikolski.
