At midday on Tuesday, a 5.1 magnitude quake was registered near Ozernovskiy, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
It was reported that a tremor jolted the region at 02:16 UTC (13:16 local time). The epicenter was located approximately 143 km east-southeast of Ozernovskiy, at a depth of 41 km.

Quakes past week
Over the last week, the area has experienced two earthquakes, greater than magnitude 2.5. The larger, a 5.0 magnitude event, was reported close to Vilyuchinsk five days earlier. The second, with a magnitude of 4.5, hit close to Ozernovskiy on March 1.
