Update: Earthquake measuring 5.0 hits area close to Tual, Indonesia on Feb. 16

A 5.0 magnitude quake was registered near Tual Monday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor shook the region at 23:47 UTC (08:47 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter situated about 116 km east of Tual.

Tual rattled twice last week

During the past week, in the same area experienced two quakes above magnitude 2.5. Both had a magnitude of 4.7, with one occurring two days ago and the other on February 12.
