PIJIJIAPAN, Chis. — A 5.1 magnitude quake occurred close to El Carmen on Thursday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which shook the region at 11:07 UTC (05:07 local time), was centered roughly 5 km west-southwest of El Carmen. It occurred at a depth of 112 km.
