A 5.3 magnitude quake shook near Miyazaki on Saturday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The USGS reported a tremor in the region at 23:59 UTC (08:59 local time). The epicenter was roughly 44 km east-southeast of Miyazaki, at a depth of 10 km.
