A 5.0 magnitude quake was reported near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Wednesday evening, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which jolted the area at 08:53 UTC (19:53 local time), was centered approximately 162 km east-southeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. It occurred at a depth of 10 km.
