EL LOA, Antofagasta — A 5.1 magnitude quake occurred near San Pedro de Atacama around midday Wednesday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

At 17:34 UTC (13:34 local time), a tremor jolted the region at a depth of 109 km, with its epicenter about 61 km south-southwest of San Pedro de Atacama.
