Update: Earthquake of 5.0 magnitude registered close to Kinablangan, Philippines on Jan. 1

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.0 magnitude quake hit close to Kinablangan Thursday afternoon.

At 10:46 UTC (18:46 local time), the region was jolted by a tremor. The earthquake shook at a depth of 58 km, with its epicenter about 26 km east-northeast of Kinablangan.
