Seismic activity on Aug. 15: Earthquake close to Ruteng, Indonesia recorded – magnitude 5.1

A 5.1 magnitude quake jolted close to Ruteng on Saturday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The tremor hit at 01:17 UTC (09:17 local time), with its epicenter approximately 71 km north-northeast of Ruteng and a depth of 10 km.

Tremors last week

Last week, there have been four quakes of magnitude 2.5 or above centered nearby. The largest, measuring 5.9, occurred near Labuan Bajo on Aug. 15.
