San Luis Valley and Alamosa placed under a heat advisory Monday

A heat advisory was issued by the National Weather Service on Saturday at 10:55 a.m. valid for Monday between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. for Del Norte Vicinity/Northern San Luis Valley below 8,500 ft, Alamosa Vicinity/Central San Luis Valley below 8,500 ft and Southern San Luis Valley.

The NWS informs, “Temperatures climbing into the lower to mid 90s.”

“Hot temperatures can cause heat illness,” adds the NWS.
