System name: Edouard

The National Hurricane Center issued the last advisory for the remnant system at 4 a.m. Thursday. Remnants of Edouard are 40 miles southeast of Dallas, Texas and 65 miles west of Tyler, Texas. With maximum sustained winds of 25 mph, it is moving west-northwest at 5 mph.

“Slow weakening to dissipation is forecast during the next 24 hours,” meteorologists wrote.

Yesterday (Wednesday)

Edouard previously a tropical depression but has since weakened and devolved to a remnant with sustained winds of 25 mph.

Hazard affecting land

Rainfall. Additional rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches are possible across northeast Texas Thursday. This will bring total rainfall amounts along the path of Edouard to 5 to 10 inches, with maximum totals up to 22 inches. Additional flash flooding is possible through Thursday, especially in low-lying and urban areas. Isolated moderate to major river flooding is expected.
