Update: Seismic activity on Oct. 29 – 5.5 magnitude earthquake close to Mid-Atlantic Ridge registered

A 5.5 magnitude quake was recorded near Mid-Atlantic Ridge Wednesday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor jolted at 06:16 UTC (05:16 local time), with its epicenter situated south of Mid-Atlantic Ridge and a depth of 10 km. Seismologists first reported it as a 5.4 event, but later upgraded it to 5.5.
