Nov. 9: Earthquake of 5.4 magnitude recorded close to Nikolski, AK

ALEUTIANS WEST CENSUS AREA, AK — According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.4 magnitude quake occurred close to Nikolski Sunday night.

A tremor hit the area at 9:36 a.m. (10:36 p.m. local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was situated approximately 129 miles southwest of Nikolski and occurred at a depth of 24 miles.
