Update: 5.1 magnitude earthquake shakes close to Panguna, Papua New Guinea on May 7

A 5.1 magnitude quake jolted near Panguna around midday Thursday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor hit at 01:23 UTC (11:23 local time), with its epicenter about 134 km west-northwest of Panguna and a depth of 120 km.
